Who, in their early 40's, has left their job and started working from home with a successful outcome?
I am in my early 40's with an extensive background as an a c and heating technician, over 20 years. This line of work has served me well, but it's not a job that I can retire on,especially with two little kids. I am not tired of the work per se, just tired of the long hours in the various elements, during the peak of every season. I have come to a point where I must spend more time with my kids, other than just the typical kissing them good morning and then tucking them in at night. I am seriously considering working from home, but I am not sure what to do because, I need to earn money as soon as possible. So my question is who has experienced this similar situation, what did you do to make money and what was the outcome? Thanks

My bf resents me for working from home, can we resolve this?
We own a business together, which we started when I was laid off. I work from home & I go to school.I do all the marketing, cust. svc, inventory etc. I pay half the bills, I pay for my own school & for some reason ALL of the housework has shifted to me. even though I do a fantastic job of getting new business & keeping the house clean my bf acts bitter and resentful. If there's a spot on the rug he flies into a fury. If our dog poops on the carpet he doesn't pick it up he just points it out to me pissed. He tells people I don't have a " real job" & if he misplaces something he blames me for it If I try to talk to him he acts condescending & ends up just shutting himself up in the bedroom all night. he thinks that the money he earns at his " real job" should be for him to spend any way he wants but that my money should still be spent on the bills. He also blames me for him not being able to buy anything he wants whenever he wants saying if I had a " real job" he could blow more money like that's a smart thing to do. I don't get it. We got along fantastically until I lost my job Sometimes he even refuses to show up at a client meeting b c he's pissed at me for some unknown reason. I am upset that he doesn't appreciate all the work I do & I'm also upset that he comes home & inspects the house like I'm a servant. I'm tired of the endless arguments and I want to resolve them. One minute he says everything is fine the next he's pissed over a dish in the sink. HELP

Any ideas on how to afford staying home with your child or working from home?
I work at my daughter's daycare, but I just wish I could stay home with her and be with her not at her daycare in another room. I have asked before and everyone comes back with working from home on your computer, but most of it is a scam even though people swear by it. Any ideas?

What should I consider before working from home?
I would like to be a work from home mom. I found this article with helpful tips associatedcontent.com article 1608985 pros and cons of being a work at home.htmlWhat would you suggest before I start working from home?

How can I make people understand that working from home is still work?
Everybody I know thinks I don't have a " real job" .I work from home running my own business which is very successful. I also take care of ALL the housework. My bf who lives w me my friends, my family and even people I've only met a few times refer to me as unemployed. My bf has even started coming home & asking why the house isn't completely spotless since he thinks that since I've been sitting at home all day it should be damn near spectacular. My friends tease me that they have it harder since they have to work & care for the house. When I get offended and say I do have a real job all they reply is " well you know what I mean, you don't have a real go to work job" . I am so frustrated. I work harder than I ever did working in an office & everyone feels sorry for my bf b c they automatically assume he has to take care of me & my parents are always trying to get me jobs like I don't have one. I'm at my wits end How can I make them understand that I do have a real job and that I do work?

How can an adult who works from home make new friends?
I am single, work from home and have no close friends. I'm in my 30's so the few I used to have are married and occupied with thier family and we've lost contact. I started going to church to meet new people, but those in my age group are married and seem uninterested in having me as a friend, maybe fearing I'm a threat to their husband, I really don't know. The younger crowd in their 20's I just feel like we're not on the same page, they're going through college and stages I've already been through and go clubbing and stuff I have outgrown, and in the older women crowd I feel they're too old fashioned and remind me of my mother. Is it too late to make friends by the time I'm in my 30's? I go to movies alone, and don't want to look stupid eating out alone so I don't do that, and I never have someone to talk to like I used to back in the day when I had friends. It's only guys hitting on me and it's really getting me deperssed.I enrolled in a night class on creative writing, thinking I'd meet some people, but everyone seems to have their own friends and not make new ones. They were all there for the class with little social interaction.I don't want an internet friend, I want a real one i can spend time with and do things together with...

How can I find "real" work from home employment?
I am a finance professional but I have a 1 year old daughter and I really want to stay home with her. I hear so many people who work from home and I so need to stay home with my daughter. I am not looking for sales and that sort of thing. Please help ?

I want to connect with other work from home dad's. Sales Guys who travel and struggle w/ leaving their family.?
I am a 29 year old male sales guy. I don't travel all that much considering the job, and when I'm not on the road, I work out of a home office in my basement. My wife works part time, and we have three kids. One two year old son, and 12 week old twin girls. I love my family more than anything in the world and consider my marriage to be healthy. Since my first child was born, I've been dealing with an overwhelming sense of guilt whenever I leave home for work. I'm the type of dad that likes to pitch in whenever I can, get my hands dirty and take care of the kids and wife. I get up for feedings in the middle of the night, change diapers and try to let my wife get out whenever possible. Since the twins have been born, it's been tough for both my wife and I. Lack of sleep, a 2 year old running around, and not as much help due to the complexity of the situation. Family has been great but not as willing to give us a break as when our son was born. Heck, I don't blame them. It is important to stress that I work out of my house so I'm around a lot. I love it actually, but when I'm not, it's all I can think about. I think my wife has gotten so used to it too that it makes it that much harder on her to care for all three. At least I feel that way....It has gotten to the point where whenever the phone rings I feel its my next trip both business and guilt . It is taking its toll on me and I've talked to my wife about it. She confirmed my belief that she doesn't exactly look forward to my trips but did nothing to make me a little more relaxed about going on them. My boss is a pseudo road warrior, and has kids, but doesn't seem to really have compassion for others with their priorities in order. The job pays so well. The major perk is the home office. I know I could go out and look for a new job in an office with no travel. Sacrifice would be income....but would I feel the same way if I went to an office from 8 5 everyday. Does anyone else feel overwhelmed by life, the decisions we make and how to resolve them? I'd love some advice.
